End of a year
I feel it’s been a long time since I first started ATDP. ATDP again like many other years has made my life interesting again. ATDP is when I actually learn something from an educational institution and not just sit there and do nothing and talk. Today, as Marine Biology hit me, I realized that this class was another successful class. Sure they don’t use any means of chatting like a joined chatroom, but everyone in the class is fairly close. We all talk on Facebook, even I the TA enjoy their presence and I usually just grade papers. This unusual circumstance I must say is highly due to our teacher. Nathan Kirk although, pretty open with the class has adapted the students to be more open to each other I suppose.
I know 2 students in the class who I know are going to be best friends for a long time because they joined that class, and the only reason why they ever started talking to each other was because of the group project design that Nathan had designed. Without his more contemperary ideas things in Marine Biology would be different. For example if the teacher was older, there would be many more boring lectures and more papers for me to grade. Nathan’s alternative to lecturing is definitely something more teachers should adapt to.
Another great year at ATDP. I learn more every year, more about myself, and people around me.
