Going green.
For a long time I always thought my school was the only school that was crazy about going green. Like, we have a solar panel at our school. Yesterday, while I was at the SLWRP conference for green activists I found out that many other schools have green concepts too. For example, American High school, which is one of the newer schools in Fremont has an amazing recycling system. Basically their whole school gets recycled in 20 minutes every week. I really found that amazing. At my school, we spend 30-35 minutes recycling and we never finish.
The point is that people need to be inspired to do better for the world. We are not yeast. I say that because, yeast in anaerobic situation produce alcohol and a little energy when there are sugars for example, in wines. They are exceptionally good and withstanding alcohol so yeah win/win for them. They even weed out their competitors. The problem with that is they just keep on producing alcohol until it reaches about 25% and then something happens. They start to lose control of fighting the alcohol. They produce and produce without paying attention to the problem. It’s a lot like us.
Humans are polluting the planet, and eventually we’re going to kill ourselves. We really have to achieve zero-waste, or humans will pay the price.
