Cynics

Despite the fact that I have my AP Bio test Monday I think it’s important I spend time reflecting. Everyday I see people, I know people are feeling more and more depressed. For example, I know people have a smiling face, they still try to enjoy themselves everyday at school and around friends, but I also know their smiling face is fake. You can see it on people’s expression. People seem more self-centered than ever. The reason for this is that everyone is feeling more left out. As we see more and more people throughout our lives, it makes sense that we have a bigger urge to please.

By default humans want to become accept by others, we crave attention and power. Attention and power usually leads to having people look at you with a positive view. Which leads back to the previous idea, that people like to please. That idea of always pleasing makes people change in order to please the highest amount of people possible. When they please a lot of people, this gives a person a false sense of security and the idea that they are liked.

This leads to my conclusion, if people didn’t care so much about being liked by everyone, being respected, they would actually become respected and liked. Because when they don’t try to so hard to please everyone, they become happy. And happiness is what we all want, right? You become respected when you always happy, and leading that decent life.
